Taha Barış Tellioğlu

Taha is 16 years old. He has been swimming since he was three years old, and he receives physiotherapy three days a week. Because he needs to move continuously due to his myopathy. But swimming is fun for him rather than a treatment. He has 10 medals he won at contests.
As there is no elevator in the apartment, Taha’s mom takes him upstairs and downstairs on her back every time. Taha was enrolled to a high school he did not like; because it was the only school with an elevator and ramp in his neighborhood. He could not get the support he expected from the school administration and he had to leave the school. Now he compulsorily continues distance education from his home. His biggest dream is to graduate from university.
Taha loves going out. “If the buses were convenient, I would like to go to every corner in İstanbul” he says. The social activities at the associations for the people with disabilities are essential in his life.
He is a fan of Galatasaray and addicted to football. He cannot play football, but he loves playing baccia. He came in second in Türkiye and will take part in the European tournament. He is so excited that he will visit new countries.
He is actively using Facebook. “All people with disabilities has the same problems. I share all these on Facebook so that others may see’’ he says.
