Tuğçe Tuna who is a dance performer, choreographer, dance therapist and academician founded “Dance with Different Bodies” project, which celebrates its 17th year, in 2001 in İstanbul.

“Dance with Different Bodies” is a first in Türkiye and also is an art collective, which takes international interest with both its research methods and performances.

The collective, helps people with different physical characteristics with a number of workshops and performance while focusing on body’s intellectual, emotional and plastic differences, to the change.

Tuğçe Tuna who organizes performances’ concept, choreography, text and management, describes Dance with Different Bodies as “Dance with Different Bodies with it’s works and workshops I learn different ways of approaching a body and while aiming to withdraw from standard aesthetics conclusions, I am researching ways of directing body under different physical circumstances and its different ways of expressing.”

The project which also trains its own artist, adopts an attitude which questions “discriminative” topics such as what is disability, who and to whom its belong to.

While people like Sedat Akçam, Pınar Akyüz, Sezer Arıçay, Begüm Balcıoğlu, Gülçin Erdiş, Muhsin Öngel, Gasia Papazyan, Kerim Keküç, Sinan Özer, Aynur Yıldırım, Tuğçe Tuna take their places as dancers, Vahit Tuna makes graphic designs of the group who works with people such as Sedat Akçam, Pınar Akyüz, Sezer Arıçay, Begüm Balcıoğlu, Gülçin Erdiş, Muhsin Öngel, Gasia Papazyan, Kerim Keküç, Sinan Özer, Aynur Yıldırım, Tuğçe Tunaile for music and sound design.
